What is Play Therapy?

Play therapy is a warm, supportive approach that helps children express what they’re feeling when they don’t yet have the words or sophistication to talk about their problems. It is typically used for children as young as 3 and up to age 12. Through play, art, and imagination, a trained play therapist creates a safe space for your child to work through challenges like anxiety, grief, family changes, trauma, or behavioural difficulties. It supports emotional growth, strengthens problem-solving skills, and encourages healthy relationships.

Is Play Therapy Right For Your Child?

If your child is experiencing big feelings, sudden changes in behaviour, difficulty at school or home, or has gone through a stressful event, play therapy can help.  You don’t need a diagnosis-just a sense that your child could use some extra support.

Your Role as a Parent or Caregiver

Parents/Caregivers are an essential part of the healing process.  While sessions focus on your child, your insights and involvement, whether through regular check ins, parenting support, or family sessions can make a meaningful difference and help your child to maintain their gains.  Together, we can create a team that supports your child’s emotional well-being and development.
